Finally, all money raised that does not go directly into creating the ad (be it extra money, or if we don't make enough for the ad) will be donated to the Prenatal HIV Research Unit (PHRU) at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa. Hey guys. I'm Nicole an 18 year old freshmen in college. I go to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I've loved Hanson since I was 10. :)

I have always been a little on the chunky side, but I've always been in sports so a lot of it was muscle. Well, now that I'm in college I don't have a practice to go to every day. I feel like I'm gaining weight and I'm loosing all my muscle. Both my room mate and I are trying to watch what we eat, but it's so hard! I'm normally good during the day, but then I have cravings at night.

I just started exercising again. I did it spartically (sp) but now I want to get on a set schedule. I weight about 165 and I want to get down to 145, 140. Hopefully I can. I've wanted to loose weight for awhile, but I've never really worked at it. Hopefully venting in this community will help. :)

ha i love this! healthy fansons :) yyyyih so im new, my name is tia, just had a birthday so that makes me sweet FIFTEEN lol. um and i live in new england, in rhode island. ive been trying to lose weight ever since i entered middle school (i was 10) yeah i know that seems a bit depressing, a 10 year old wanting to shape her physical image, but thats what happens when you go to an all girl school. it was one year, but it was the crappiest year ive ever lived in my entire life. but i do sports and i run around my neighborhood sometimes. but my mom says its mostly what i eat. i never eat breakfast or dinner, and if i do its either a bagel or something like gummy bears lol. i even made this thing i share with my friends that i just LLLLOVE to call the FOURTUNE TELLER WORKOUT. you all know how to make fortune tellers, right? well, instead of writing stupid little fortunes that you know will NEVER come true, write things in like "40 push ups" or "100 crunches". it works, and its fun because you can decorate your little fortune teller however you want. lol i make losing weight FUN! hahahaha bye guys

okay guys, i have this strong feeling that if i ate enough fruits and vegetables a day, the rest of my healthyeating will follow. since the food pyramid reccamends 3-4 fuirts and 4-5 vegetables a day, i think i'm going to start with six combined and work up to nine. i have no problem with eating fruits (when i feel like it) but my problem is vegetables. these are the vegetables that i like: lettuce / salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli and green peppers with onion dip, corn on the cob and potatoes. i'm looking for more suggestions on what i can do to incorporate more vegetables into my diet. i love salads but i can't eat those at every meal! and i'm not quite sure what else to do. i'm always up to trying vegetables but i usually don't like them, i don't like any cooked onces except potatoes and corn and i don't know what else to do! does anyone have any suggestions??? thanks!

I saw your reply but opted to respond with a new post! You are right that losing a lot of weight very fast can be dangerous - but I'm talking like 20+ lbs. Anytime you shock your metabolism you will shed several pounds quickly. A lot of it is water weight anyway. After the first two weeks doing south beach you are only to expect to lose 1 to 2 lbs per week - which is perfectly healthy.

Last year I started using weight watchers - the first week doing so I lost 6 lbs. I exercised 4 times that week and stuck to the points rigidly. I lost 20 lbs in that month! But then I plateaued and it was very hard to lose more after that.

Anyway - just thought I'd give you an update! :D

So it's official - I'm going to start using South Beach. I never thought I would - but my doctor told me to do it. I read up on it a bit and it makes sense. Much lower in fat and cholesterol than Atkins - which I think is important! I'm excited the prospect of losing 8-13 lbs in the first two weeks - kinda to get you motivated. it will be hard to give up bread and pasta though. Two of my very favorite foods!

I will let you know how it goes :D

hey guys, how's it going?
i was just wondering what y'all are doing to try and be healthy/lose weight?
see, since i was eight i've been "trying" to lose weight.
and i seriously just need to do it. but everytime i try i can't stay with it. (it makes me insane). i get to the point where i just don't want to eat food anymore (which is not very helpful, of course). so i was just wondering what everyone else is doing. i did weight watchers for two years (by force) and only times liked it. i did south beach for the month of june, did all right until i fell off (from lack of desire to eat anything) then i just tried it again last week... and lost a little bit. basically i've lost twenty pounts this summer but i have at least eighty more a need to lose. i'm just looking for some suggestions / encouragement.

also... would any of you happen to be from massachusetts? irl buddies can be really helpful (especially hanson fans, because there's always something to talk about). anyway, thanks for reading. au revoir!

Hey guys~I'm getting so discouraged lately. I've been trying so hard to lose weight...but I just can't do it. Then I get upset and just give up. Anyone got any tips/sites that could help me with a good beginning weight-loss program or anything?
If not, that's okay too. I'm just getting frustrated, lol.
